Who qualifies to
be a Star Reseller?
Dealers must be a legitimate retail or computer service
organization with a state tax license, and a normal presence in
the community. (Yellow page ad, website, other proof of
advertising or references from customers) A complete dealer
application must be filled out and submitted for approval.
Is there any
minimum purchase required?
There are 2 classifications of dealers.
Reseller Level -Small occasional unit quantities.
Partner Level -Must buy a demo unit and do $10,000 per
quarter.
How do I get
reseller prices?
Once registered as
a dealer you can log in and the configurator will calculate your
discounted cost. For more information prior to registering you can

What terms are
available?

COD, Cashiers check. Required for all 1st orders. COD, Company
check with credit check approval.

Approved education partners can have PO made out to Star Tech,
Inc. Star Tech will bill institution and difference is paid to
dealer when invoice is paid.
What is the warranty?

One year parts
and labor warranty on products other than laptops.
Manufacturers warranty may exceed this warranty. EX Motherboards
are typically 3 years. After 1 year it would be the
reseller or end users responsibility to pursue these warranty
options
- Two year parts and labor
warranty on Asus powered laptops & PDA’s (A Starpcs.net
Exclusive Offer).
- Partner level dealer may replace
memory, processor and hard drive otherwise unit must be
returned.

What products are
available?
Current laptops,
desktops, servers, and OEM parts and accessories.
What shipping
method is used and who pays?

Orders for in stock units confirmed prior to 3PM will ship the
following business day. All units go through an overnight burn
in procedure.

Small orders - 2nd day FEDEX $25 per laptop, Large orders (over
10) FedEx Ground actual. Est., $15-17 each per unit charged to
reseller.
Desktops & Servers FedEx Ground actual. Est., $35-85 each per
unit, charged to reseller.

Order Time for computers ordered
assembled: STARPCS.NET builds to your specifications, tests the
hardware, runs Microsoft Windows XP updates, and Custom brands
the computer. With an image on file we will prepare your hard
drive or SYS PREP the unit for you to finalize. This process
generally will take 24 to 48 hours, unless indicated otherwise.
We suggest you choose FED EX 2 day air or overnight delivery.

assembled: STARPCS.NET shipping time for inspected but not
tested components is 24 hours, unless indicated otherwise. We

Can I have my own
custom brand?
Yes, 3 options are
offered:

Star Brand—No charge. This is the default
-
Optional Brand - $0.55 per medallion (some models require 2
medallions each). We offer a selection of alternative brand
names: Traveler, Prestige, and Matrix.

Custom Brand— For laptops; A one time setup charge of $40 plus
¢55 each. A minimum purchase of 100 Medallions is required.
There are 2 different sizes of medallions, small and large. When
ordering medallions, we suggest ordering 70 large and 30 small
to fulfill the different model designs and requirements.
We will ship laptop unbranded.
If I have a
defective unit, what do I do?
You fill out and
submit an RMA Form by fax or online. RMA approval is granted
the same day. With the approval you must pack up the laptop
in a suitable box and return it to the address on the RMA
approval. The original shipping container is the best
container.
How long does it
take for repair?
Warranty - Depot
service 24 hour normal turn around.
Non Warranty – Depot service 72 hour or less normal turnaround.

Do I pay for
Literature?
Star literature is free with the purchase of laptops
Starter pack - 25 piece assortment – 5 each is provided when you
join the program
Additional literature is available with each purchase of laptops.
PDF copies of the literature are available from the web site.
Custom literature
with your name and brand is 100 for $10*
* Your brand name
and company name can be inserted in place of Star’s logo and
company name
Can I request a
Demo or Evaluation Unit?
Yes:
Evaluation agreement must be signed and returned by fax.
A credit card is
required.
The evaluation
period is 14 days plus 4 days for shipping, a total of 18 days.
All evaluation
units are shipped by Fedex 2nd day. (Our normal
shipping method.)
Cost of shipping, $25, is charged to the credit card and is non
refundable
Cost of the
computer is authorized on the credit card and will be charged if
unit is not returned by the 18th day.
Units will be new
and all protective coverings must remain in place. Any unit
returned without the protective covers in place will be returned
and considered sold. The cost of any damage as a result of
customer mishandling will be charged to the credit card of the
customer.
What is your Pixel Policy?
Being that we only carry the Asus
line of laptops, we use their dead pixel policy.
ASUS's warranty obligations are limited to the terms set forth
below:
ASUS PROVIDE THE HIGHEST INDUSTRY STANDARD DEAD PIXEL POLICY
ASUS provide the highest industry standard dead pixel policy which
is batter than DELL, HP, SONY, Compaq , Gateway and etc. ASUS is
not the LCD manufacturer. (Hitachi, Sharp, Samsung, etc. do). The
industry standard dead pixel policy is defined by LCD
manufacturer.
NON-CONFORMING PIXEL CRITERIA - AS PER ASUS SPECIFICATION:

Zone A 2 Within Centre of Screen 2" X 2"
Zone B 3 Remaining area of the LCD
Zone A & B 5 Entire Screen
Abnormal Pixel:
Definition of abnormal pixels: pixels (dots) on the screen that
appear white, green, red, blue, and/or black. The pixel criteria
define two Zones. Zone A is defined as a 2" x 2" square in the
center of the LCD screen. Zone B is defined as the remaining area
of the LCD.
Criteria for new units: Asus will consider the LCD defective if:
1. Three or more abnormal pixels appear in Zone A, or
2. Four or more abnormal pixels appear in Zone B, or
3. Six or more abnormal pixels appear on the entire screen.
